How to write with LAIKA

Create Your Own Brains

A “brain” consists of tone of voice, context, characters, and places — the essence of your writing. With LAIKA you can easily create brains to write with. A growing flock of writing buddies, based on your own text or any style you want to work with.

Invent Characters

All you need to provide is a name and a tiny snippet of backstory and LAIKA creates a character for you.

What You See Is What You Get

Want to visualise what you’ve been writing about? Conjure up images with the press of a button. In a style fitting to the world your writing takes place in.

Not a Productivity Tool

Imagine writing with Kafka, Austen, or Dostoevsky. LAIKA offers a continuously growing number of “brains” of famous writers in the public domain to explore. You can also collaborate with brains made by the community.

About Us

LAIKA is made by Charlene Putney, Martin Pichlmair and Riddhi Raj with Wiola Gluza, M Charity, and Vanilla Noir. Together we’ve got decades of combined experience in tech, games, and writing. It is our love letter to writers: a secret key into a wondrous garden we’ve been bewitched by.
