How do I get started?

Click Sign Up and create an account in under 90 seconds by answering a few simple questions and funding your account using a bank account. Once funded, you can invest in a pre-made symphony or create your own.

Note: funding transfers usually take about 24 hours to show up in your account.

What fees does Composer charge?

Please note that sales (i.e., selling a stock or ETF) are subject to regulatory fees. Composer does not benefit from these fees, and all proceeds go directly to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). More information is available from our brokerage partner, Alpaca. You can find the fee schedule here from our new brokerage partner, Apex Clearing Corporation.

How are my trades executed and who is Alpaca and Apex?

Trades execute on weekdays between 3:50 pm ET and market close. Brokerage services are provided through our partners, Alpaca and Apex Clearing Corporation.

Both Alpaca Securities and Apex Clearing Corporation are members of SIPC, and securities in your account are protected up to $500,000. For details, please visit www.sipc.org.

Can non-US residents use Composer?

Unfortunately, we are not able to support non-US residents at this time.

Where will my assets be held?

Our brokerage partners, Alpaca and Apex Clearing Corporation, are members of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Through SIPC, securities in your account are protected up to $500,000. For details, please visit www.sipc.org. Further, assets are held with our custodian bank, BMO Harris.
